My middle name is Marcus and it's the name I inherited from my Grandfather, the original Marcus de Almeida whose words are quoted above. For me he was the embodiment of those rare qualities, kindness, charm, charisma, elegance and style . I looked up to him from my earliest memories.

As a young boy he would tell me stories of how during the war, he and his brothers would make their shoes out of old tyres and string. Later as a man starting out in his career he would buy the best shoes he could afford telling me;

“remember, a man should always start with his shoes” 

It was these words along with his stories of travel and adventure in a bygone era, that first inspired me to study the art of shoemaking as a young man and go on to become a designer then eventually a master shoemaker.

Later those same words and spirit of adventure would inspire me to dedicate the brand to him and keep his memory alive, it seemed the perfect name.

Our shoes are made using the highest quality materials and are left on the last for up to 2 weeks to ensure the Leather or Suede moulds into a superior shape and fit.

All our packaging, boxes, shoe bags and even our laces are handmade in England using recycled materials. We are committed to sustainability and minimising our impact on the environment.

Designed in London and worn all over the world, re-interpreted classics with a modern twist handcrafted by Artisans and Master Shoemakers in England.
